MO: St. Louis - Armed Robbery leads to Gunfight, Victim and both Suspects Wounded

The victim told officers he was sitting in the park when two suspects robbed him of his backpack at gunpoint. After giving up his backpack, he said he pulled out his own gun and exchanged gunfire with the suspects. He told police he believed he hit one or both of them, as he heard them shout they had been shot while fleeing the scene.

Police said the victim was taken to the hospital and was listed in "stable" condition.

While police were investigating, they learned two men in their 20s had arrived at the hospital with gunshot wounds to their legs. Responding detectives determined the men, both in "stable" condition, were the suspects who robbed the victim in the park. Their vehicle was searched, and two firearms and the victim's stolen backpack were recovered, police said.
