Akron police say a 16-year-old boy is in custody after being shot and then returning fire downtown late Thursday morning.
According to a release from the department, the teen said he was walking along the 200 block of Opportunity Parkway when an SUV pulled up and "a male dressed in all black clothing" got out. The suspect then fired at the boy and shot him, while the 16-year-old fired back with his own gun before the suspect got back in the passenger seat of the car and fled.
